blog #494 >> Crazy Harold's Christmas Snake

I designed this for the white elephant gift exchange at work. Poke a few holes in the box, and you're good to go! The gift had nothing to do with snakes, but guessing what's inside is half the fun! Plus, you never really realize just how much you wanted a snake until you've got one.

Because nothing says "Merry Christmas" like one of Crazy Harold's live snakes!

(I'll have a pdf available for download as soon as I get back to work. Sorry, I forgot to email it to myself.)

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!

I was bored, so I made this flow chart.
Have you ever been at a yard sale and thought, "Should I buy this?" Now if you're ever in a state of doubt, you can look it up on this handy flow chart. Just follow the questions to the correct outcome.

blog #318 >> Replaced

When I got back to work today from my vacation, I was shocked to learn that I had been replaced by cardboard! Apparently, the Graphics Department got lonely and behind while I was away, so they created this cardboard cutout to act as my replacement until I returned. All I can say is the cardboard cutout did a terrible job in my place. My desktop was a mess and I don't think it checked my email even once while I was gone. I fired it promptly when I got back. But at least it gave Mary someone to talk to. And the likeness to myself is remarkable. From behind you'd hardly notice the difference. They also ran all my pens, pen-mug and teacup through the shrink-wrapper while I was away. It was kinda like Christmas getting to open all those little packages.

blog #178 >> Jesus is a Friend of Mine

It's just so catchy. I've been singing it all day.
"It's a good thing these guys learned to turn the other cheek when people laugh at them, because it's happened at least 1,192,819 times."
– favorite YouTube comment.

If only Papyrus was the villain and Comic Sans wasn't the hero.
All I can say is, "Scissors, Arrow, Mailbox, Open Mailbox!"

blog #133 >> One Got Fat

After all the bike safety talk here in Portland, I thought it would be a good idea to post this instructional short film on bicycle safety from 1963. It may be the most bizarre-creepy-disturbing thing I've ever seen. And the moral of the story is: Don't wear monkey masks while riding a bike... they may cause vision impairment.

blog #131 >> Magic Eyes

Remember Magic Eyes? Popular in the 90's? You know... those strange geometric posters that some claimed to have seen fantastic 3D images in. I've never been able to see them until last week, and now I'm obsessed. I even made my own floating image... see above. And if you cross your eyes (a little), and stare at it long enough, everything will pop out of the page. The image below is from Arale's Picasa page.

blog #111 >> How To:
CD Slim Cases Make Great CD Cases

Oh, what to do at work when it's slow?
Today's option is... Let's be crafty! It is the "art" department after all.
So, we made these nifty-neat CD holders made from slim cases. Clients always seem to send their artwork on disks and with disks come slim cases. I've got about 50 of them (slim cases not clients) stashed under my desk.

Here's a how to: (I'll post the download when I'm at home tonight.)

For more slim case ideas see HERE.

blog #104 >> A new way to pop popcorn.

I used to laugh at the people who said cell phones caused brain damage and call them crazy. Now I can envision my brain exploding into little kernels of popcorn in my head.
Scary.
