blog #117 >> It's time for a mad tea party!

AH! I had hoped to get this posted much earlier, but I just got so wrapped up in my mad tea party I kinda forgot about the posting part! Today is the day of Vanessa's Mad Tea Party {Of the Costume Variety} and I've been looking forward to it all week!

Come in and make yourself at home...

Oh, look at the time! You're just in time for some tea!

Just make yourself cozy and I'll go get the tea ready.

Which cup would you like?

Come in and have a seat.

Would you like a cookie?

A tea sandwich?

Do you take cream or sugar?

So tell me about yourself...

Where are you from?

Has the weather been nice there?

Where is your favorite place to be?

What's you favorite book?

Are you quirky or pretty serious?

Do you prefer coffee or tea?

Who's your favorite band? (I'm always looking for new bands.)

Do you play any instruments?

I do, I play a big red accordion, although I'm not very good. I wanted to post a clip... but ah, time ran short. :)

Would you like some more tea? Just a half a cup?

Oh dear! It seems we drank the wrong one! Now where did I leave the cake that says, "eat me?"

At least there is one advantage to being this size. For one, now we can go inside books, and I don't just mean between the pages.... What was your favorite book again? If you post it in the comments, I'll pick one and we'll venture to explore inside...

I'll take the pirate cup, thank you! And those cookies look divine! So sweet; love the white frosting! My favorite book - well, aside from Alice in Wonderland (isn't that everyone's favorite?) is "The Talisman" by Stephen King and Peter Straub. It's a wonderful, magical fantasy tale about a boy who goes on a quest to save his sick mother - who happens to be a queen in an alternate world!

I hope you'll stop by my blog and meet my party "ambassadors" - I am having a party banner give-away! :)

Your cookies are so cute. I like the little mushroom one. Roar is a cool last name. I am sure there were jokes, though. However, try growing up with the name Kandy ... talk about a teasing or two. Let's do tea again sometime.

Those cookies are so cute! Favorite book-Time Traveler's Wife. Just one that comes to mind.

I already ate six pink cookies for breakfast, but thank you for asking. (Three of them were half-eaten already if that makes me sound just a little less piggy.)

I'm from Alaska, but living in Montana - and it is hot, officially the first day of summer, in my mind, because we had to turn on the air conditioner. I'm a quirky tea-drinker - my favorite last book that I read was The Book Thief and one of my favorite defunct bands is The Throwing Muses. Thanks for having me (and for stopping by)! xo

This is so much fun. I love blog parties. It's like trick-or-treating, but with less candy and on the internet.

Oh how wonderful! First, which cup to choose - a heart, an owl, a pirate mug - hmm, the owl, if it isn't being used already, please.
Your cookies are delightful - I've never had a mushroom cookie before, and these are delicious! I'm sure they must be a favorite with the fairies. And tea sandwiches too - oh my, what a spread (or is that just my hips spreading from all the treats at the party, today?)
Thank you for the tea - just plain tea, is fine for me - or well, it is a special occasion, one lump please. Sometimes I take honey in it, in the winter, but I'm not too fussy...tea is my favorite, no matter how it's served - though while it's hot, I usually have it iced...
I'm from a little town in Southern California - the weather this past week has been perfect. How has your weather been?
I love beaches or forests or anywhere with a bit of water. How's about you?
Favorite books - it's so hard to choose just one, but I've always loved both of the Alice books, their quirkiness appeals to me - but there are so many others I would love to step inside, too...
I see you play the accordion - I would love to hear you play some time, when you have the time. I'd love to learn that I think. I play the piano a bit, though I'm rather rusty, and my piano's rather dusty. It's in need of a good tune-up, I think.
Thank you for all your delightful hospitality and charming conversation. It's been so lovely meeting you - we must do this again sometime - my door is always open - stop by to visit, anytime!

Hello,

i'm 2 year old Inge, visiting the teaparties with my tricycle. I brought cake and Belgian wafles..

But maybe I tell you more about the big me...

I'm from Belgium and we finally have some good, not too hot, weather.
I love to be home...it's is my heaven !
My favorite books are for the moment the books I make myself... but I read every evening in a magazine or a book about "creating something"...

I can be very serious ( especially at my work), but there is a weird side about me..
I love coffee most, especially a hot strong coffee with some cold cream on...

I'm very fond of "Omnia" a Dutch Pagan folk band, but I also love Ilse Delange and Neeka, two great female singers !!

I play piano ( I love the film " The piano"), play the German flute, a bit of guitar,...

If you want to learn more about me, my home, my weird side,... you're always welcome at web.mac.com/pinkepinke

greetings
Inge from Belgium

You play the accordion ( it's a beauty) : do you know the music of the film "Amelie Poulain" and the music of Yann Tiersen ? He often uses the accordion in his music. Weird but very beautiful !

Hi there!

My goodness I loved your curls and the gloves with the many watches.
And oh dear---were those HATCHET cookies? The owl and acorn warmed me to the very core. I have always wanted a fancy springerle cookie rolling pin. You know....the ones that have intriciate designs already carved into them?? Special.

Let's see.....I'm originally from a tiny town in Texas called Rising Star. (I like that you're from Boring...I adore weird town names)
Now I live in the middle of the woods, but I have an address in Lone Oak, Texas. The weather is over 100 degrees. My favorite place is in the aforementioned woods, but on much cooler days. Favorite book....oh, gosh---couldn't pick just one. Love the "Outlander" series by Diana Gabaldon, Harry Potter, "Johnathan Strange & Mister Norrell" by Susanne Clark, and anything by Alice Hoffman. I am definitely on the quirky side, and like coffee AND tea. Equally, but in different ways. I play oodles of instruments, very badly: violin, piano, trumpet, drums, recorder, guitar, and I actually am pretty ok at singing, flute, and piccollo. I quite like your red accordion. Please add a clip, please!

Thanks so much for visiting me. I LOVED this Virtual Tea Party event. It was such a nice way to see all the other Faniciful Twist fans put their thinking caps on over a similar subject. I never cease to be amazed how many different things gloriously creative people can come up with.

I really enjoyed your site, and I look forward to seeing what's coming up in the future. Feel free to stop by mine anytime.
